Content Marketing’s Role in Shaping IR Communications

What’s the value of good IR? According to a report by Rivel Research, buy-side investors believe effective IR contributes a median premium of 10 percent to a company’s valuation, while ineffective IR dampens a company’s valuation by a median of 20 percent. And yet, investor communications is often treated more as an extension of the finance department – focusing on compliance issues or historical data – rather than the hybrid communications-compliance function IR was intended to be. Compliance should be only one-third of effective IR today; context (i.e., the story behind the results; the intangible assets that create opportunities and fuel growth) and channels make up the other two-thirds.
